Abstract
The configuration of the intake chamber for the tundish in a single-strand continuous slab-casting machine equipped with a special metal reservoir and barrier mounted at the boundary of the intake chamber. The metal reservoir and barrier contain casting holes positioned symmetrically relative to the longitudinal axis of the tundish. The influence of the reconfigured distribution system on the parameters of the steel flux in the tundish and on the removal of nonmetallic inclusions is considered.
