Abstract

A syndrome of glucose intolerance associated with hyperinsulinaemia and insulin resistance, skin changes, and mild virilization occurred in two daughters of a first-cousin marriage. The condition is probably inherited as an autosomal recessive trait. It is likely to represent a widespread disturbance in neuro-endocrine control; the primary metabolic error may involve pineal, virilization.
