Abstract

While diabetes is often a risk factor for vascular disease, its protective effects on abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) development have been well documented. Much less is known about the impact of diabetes-and in particular insulin dependence-on long-term outcomes following AAA repair. We aim to evaluate the role of diabetes on perioperative outcomes, mortality, and reintervention following both endovascular and open AAA repair.
