Abstract
Some recent experimental results of insulator to metal transitions are discussed. In particular, the problems of electron localization in Ti 4O 7, VO 2 and in semiconductor-oxide interface are dealt with. Theoretical implications of electron-electron pairing, of Mott—Anderson localization as well as that of Wigner crystallization in some of these systems will be shown to be important.
