Abstract

Abstract The article devoted to the questions of developing effective insulation sheath for extreme temperature conditions. In terms of resistance to low and alternating temperatures, tensile strength and water absorption, polyethylene foam insulating shells are quite applicable to insulation systems. The article contains the experience of usage of seamless polyethylene shells in stationary and mobile residential modules operated in the Arctic region and in insulation systems based on the principle of “thermal blanket” for preservation of snow used at ski resorts, when stored snow is covered with rolled polyethylene foam with a mechanical connection of sheets with a subsequent awning coating.
