Abstract

The high temperature superconducting (HTS) cable is expected to become the next generation of power transmission line with its large capacity, compact structure and low loss. Polypropylene laminated paper (PPLP) has been widely used as insulation material for cold dielectric (CD) HTS cable due to its excellent dielectric properties. In this paper, cryogenic insulation characteristics of PPLP has been researched. DC, AC and lightning impulse breakdown strength of mini-model cable had been investigated according to three-parameter Weibull distribution based on grey model (GM).
