Abstract

The fourth industrial revolution, originally referred to as Industry 4.0, comes from a draft strategy for high techniques of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany, promoting the computerization and automation of manufacturing processes. The era of Industry 4.0 is a great challenge for the global economy, the aim of which is to ensure the quality of production processes, not only because of the growing complexity, but mainly because of the need to find new innovative, and thus very efficient production solutions. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to present the significance, nature and tools for shaping quality in production processes and present the authors’ model of instruments for improving the quality of production processes, especially in the coopetition of modern enterprises. The study refers to the quality management system and shows the implementation of appropriate instruments to improve the quality of production processes carried out over a long period of time, which contribute to the quality of products and the competitive position of companies in the global market.
