Abstract
Direct activity measurement by the γ-ray sum-peak method with two NaI(T1) crystals operating in the summing, coincidence and anticoincidence modes is demonstrated for 88Y and 207Bi. Estimates of γ-spectrum peak areas are described in detail. Instrumental corrections of the peak areas for pile-up, dead time and random summing are derived theoretically and verified experimentally for all three modes of operation.
