Abstract

This article reconstructs the educational strategies of the first students of the Omsk agricultural Institute, built in the conditions of the Civil war. The author concludes that the 1918-1921 intake students can be considered as one generation with common socio-cultural orientations, which included, in particular, the desire for education. As a result of difficult material and living conditions, the first students’ learning strategies take the form of survival strategies. Under these conditions, students chose two options: either temporarily discontinue their studies and overcome life difficulties together with their close and distant relatives; or to mobilize efforts to complete their education as soon as possible.
