Abstract
The current state of instructional computing art is the focus of a recently released book titled Instructional Computing in University: The Second Decade . Edited by Julian Feldman and Charles Mosmann, this slim volume contains papers and discussion reports from an invitational conference celebrating ten years of instructional computing at the University of California at Irvine. The conference planners invited a single paper in each of four areas of instructional computing--- instructional interface, delivery mechanism, organization , and cost ---hoping to survey the state of the art in the discipline. Each paper was the focus of a "workshop" and concluding paper. Thus, the volume serves as a proceedings of the conference.
