Abstract
The paper deals with the problem of cultural institutions during the communist regime in Romania, with a special focus on the social and cultural realities of the writers. The period of analsys is divided in 3 major parts, according to some political events that were influential for this period: 1948-1964, 1964-1971, 1971-1989. The interdependence between literary field and the official ideology is analyzed by taking into account the historical importance of some political acts as well as from the specificity and mechanisms of the literary system itself.
