Abstract

The string tension is calculated by Monte Carlo method for various SU(2) lattice actions which include six-link loops. When a lattice action is located near the renormalized trajectory of the renormalization group, the effect of instantons is properly taken into account and the value of the string tension is about twice as large as that obtained so far for the simple plaquette action.
