Abstract

This paper is a study of analysis techniques for the generation mechanism of panel vibration based on vibration energy propagation. First, the propagation path of the traveling wave in the entire system was visualized by instantaneous structural intensity analysis using FEM, which enabled the identification of effective areas for reducing panel vibration. This technique was further applied to a vehicle body model. Based on the propagation paths of the traveling waves, the panels that contribute to the sound can be identified, and it is shown that controlling the paths with the intention of not transmitting them to the cabin is effective in reducing panel vibration and interior noise.
