Abstract

For the problem of the instantaneous frequency rate estimation of multi-component linear frequency-modulated (LMF) signals, a new method is presented. And the local polynomial Fourier transform (LPFT) method is applied to estimate instantaneous frequency rate of multi-component LMF signals. By means of doing local polynomial Fourier transform on multi-component LMF signals, we can separate each LMF signal, and then search the value to find the corresponding frequency rate according to the local polynomial of the every LMF signal, so we accurately estimate the instantaneous frequency rate of the multi-component LMF signal. The simulation results verify the availability of the proposed method.
