Abstract

This paper describes an efficient method of RNA isolation, enabling RNA templates to be obtained for reverse transcription within 20 min. The procedure avoids the use of hazardous organic chemicals and ethanol precipitation, and does not require ultracentrifugation. Results are presented for extraction of RNA from virus-infected tissue culture fluid, infected cell sheets, vaccine bulk material and lyophilized commercial vaccines.
