Abstract

The significance of tower head frames is demonstrated in the overall perspective of the development of mine construction. Types of foundations for head frames and the principles of their construction, which are implemented in design practice and construction in the Far North, are discussed. Various methods of founding head frames on ice-laden permafrost, and their advantages and disadvantages are compared. Ranges of application are recommended for variable foundation designs.
