Abstract

The article discusses weld joint defects that were observed during boiler overhaul during shutdown. Visual methods as well as penetration methods were used in the project to check welds. These are mainly the welds of membrane wall pipes and also the welds of pipes for the supply of combustion air. Found weld defects are described and also their photo documentation is included. The aim of this article is to point out recurring defects in welds, especially when replacing membrane wall panels in boilers, and thereby contribute to the prevention of these inhomogeneities.
