Abstract

The discussion about the Nb2O5 crystal structure persists nowadays, especially for the TT-phase. It has been shown that the TT-phase can accommodate defects in the crystal structure due to its opened structure and non-stoichiometry behavior. Several works suggested that the TT-phase could crystallize in monoclinic, hexagonal, pseudohexagonal, or orthorhombic structures. For this reason, this work presents insights about the TT-phase crystal structure, which presented a pseudohexagonal unit cell within a disordered orthorhombic superlattice, showing a tunnel-like structure of 4 Å along the b-axis.
