Abstract

Effective slagging is one of the key points for food waste (FW) gasification technology, this study focuses on the regulation of temperature and wheat straw (WS) in the ash fusion characteristics during the gasification of FW. Results show that it is difficult to smoothly slag when FW is gasified alone, and the increase of ash-making temperature will lead to the increase of the ash fusion temperatures (AFTs). At 600–1200 °C, the flow temperature (FT) of FW ash will increase from 1405 °C to 1452 °C with ash-making temperature increases. The addition of WS can effectively decrease the AFTs of FW due to its higher content of alkali metals. During the ash-making process, there are interactions between the mineral components of the FW and WS, and more low melting substance such as anorthite and leucite are generated, which is the main reason for the lower AFTs of the mixed ash.
