Abstract

The Australian Medical Council (AMC) is an independent national standards body for medical education. It accredits the medical schools and their programs in Australia and New Zealand. In the accreditation of medical education in China in recent years, Chinese medical educators drew upon the accreditation procedures of the AMC. This paper presents the AMC procedures and the insight the Chinese medical educators have into them, aiming to enlighten the Chinese medical educators regarding the procedures of medical education and to advance the accreditation of medical education in China.
