Abstract

We would like to introduce the unique optical properties, such as aggregation-induced luminescence, thermochromism, and phosphorescence, of non-substituted triphenylmethyl (trityl) hexafluorophosphate in the crystalline state, which have not been confirmed since the discovery of trityl cation 120 years ago. The versatile nature observed in trityl cation (cat-ion) is like a fickle cat that shows many different lovely expressions. (Aggregate. 2021;2:e126)
