Abstract

The semi‐synthesis of homogeneously glycosylated interleukin‐2 (IL‐2) has been accomplished via a single‐step expressed serine ligation. The in vitro assays suggest that the glycans played an important role in fine‐tuning IL‐2 activities during T cell differentiation. The combination of modern peptide and carbohydrate chemistry provides a highly efficient synthetic platform for the preparation of glycosylated IL‐2 and a powerful tool for understanding the function of IL‐2 glycans.
