Abstract
A modified seed-mediated approach using chiral co-surfactant as capping ligand is developed for the synthesis of intrinsically chiral gold dog-bone shaped nanoparticles. The shape anisotropy at the edges is found to play a crucial role in driving the optical activity in these nanostructures, as reported by Jatish Kumar et al. in their Research Article (e202300461). Intense plasmonic chirality observed in the visible and NIR region of the electromagnetic spectrum can be of potential use in biosensing and enantioselective catalysis.
