Abstract

Label-free imaging and on-tissue top-down identification of proteoforms in tissues using nanospray desorption electrospray ionization (nano-DESI) mass spectrometry is demonstrated by Julia Laskin, Neil Kelleher, and co-workers in their Communication (DOI: 10.1002/anie.202200721). The differential expression of individual proteoforms provides first insights into cell-specific biological pathways in different regions of the tissue.
