Insensitivity in models of flexible manufacturing systems with zero-buffer stations and reversible routing

Abstract

In a recent paper, Yao and Buzacott have shown that, for models of flexible manufacturing systems with zero-buffer stations, the state distribution has a product-form and that it is valid even for hyperexponential service times. In this article, we prove that this state distribution actually holds for general service time distributions.
