Wetland cropping ecosystems has a wide variety of habitats. Plant pest organisms are an inhibitor in increasing rice production in East Kalimantan. Observation of the diversity of insects in the area of ??agricultural land is very important in supporting the provision of information on pest attacks on crops. The research was conducted in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan in October-December 2016. The objective of this study was to obtain information about the types of insects in paddy fields. This research was conducted using purposive random sampling. Collection of insect was done using a swing net and insect light traps. Observation data was analised using Shanon (H) diversity / diversity index. To determine the uniformity / diversity of insect types using the Evenes index (E). The results showed 40 types of insects as pests, and 20 types of insects as natural enemies. The most common types of insect pests were found in the district. Marangkayu 28 types, Samboja 15 types, and Tenggarong 13 types. Insects as natural enemies were found in the district Marangkayu 17 types, Tenggarong 14 types and Samboja 13 types.
