Abstract

This article presents an analysis of insanity and limited sanity from a legal and psychiatric perspective. The first part discusses the essence of both terms, explaining their meaning in a legal and medical context. It then presents the sources of insanity and limited insanity, focusing on the medical, psychological and social causes leading to leading to these states. The final part of the article outlines the legal consequences of a declaration of insanity or limited insanity, including potential sanctions, safeguards and legal procedures. The article is a resource for lawyers, psychiatric practitioners and anyone interested in legal and psychiatric issues. Understanding the nature of insanity and limited insanity is a key element in the debate on an individual’s responsibility for his or her actions in the context of criminal law.
