Abstract

The angular correlations between inelastically scattered neutrons and γ-rays from the 2 + → 0 + decay of the first excited state in 12C have been measured. The experiment was performed with the n-detector and γ-detector placed in the reaction plane, and with the γ-detector normal to the plane. The substate excitation probabilities S 0, S 1, S 2 have been determined. The results have been compared with the values obtained in other experiments and with theoretical predictions. Some disagreements with the experimental data found by other authors are discussed.
