Abstract

A lack of druggable targets in the insulin-Akt pathway has made increasing insulin signaling an uphill struggle. Now, a Johns Hopkins team has found that Akt is inhibited by an inositol-derived signaling molecule called IP7, which could potentially provide a new angle for targeting diabetes and obesity.
