Abstract
This research work presents the results from the analysis of the technological activity within the cement industry, across the globe, during the 2010-2021 period. Analysis performed chronologically, on world patent applications by regions, countries, companies, universities and research centers; comparing local versus foreign capacity. The achieved results, allowed us to establish the four most prominent countries in the world in patenting, as well as six in Latin America, along with their local capabilities and the pronounced difference between China’s behaviors to that of the other countries. The existence of a perceived decrease in the research of this productive activity where the main focus is concentrated in the patenting of new methods, processes and procedures, additives, concrete, CO2 and Gases.
