With the advent of the information age, environmental design education in colleges and universities should also conform to the objective needs of social development, and constantly seek teaching models and talent training methods that adapt to market development, so that my country's environmental art design education tends to improve. The purpose of this article is to explore the innovative research and development of the teaching mode of environmental art design major in colleges and universities. This article takes the application methods, characteristics and effects of the open teaching mode of environmental design major in ordinary universities as the main research object. And take this school and other schools as examples to investigate in-depth the teaching mode of environmental design majors in ordinary colleges and universities in my country. In-depth analysis of the development status of the open teaching mode of the environmental design major, and put forward some constructive opinions and suggestions on the problems that arise. This article focuses on professional ability training. The studio-based teaching model advocates teaching, learning, and doing in the studio, integrating theoretical teaching, technical services, and practice. Emphasize the experience of the real working atmosphere in the studio teaching process and improve students' practical operation ability.
