Continued on page S127 Evaluation: One hundred sixty-six Isaac teachers taught more than 126,000 hours of nutrition education with 7,200 students in their classrooms as a results of training, resources, curricula, and student incentives during the 2008-2009 SNAP-Ed program year. One hundred six teachers completed a year-end survey. Nearly 64% of the teachers completing the survey reported that they added nutrition to their reading lessons, 51% added it to math lessons, 79% offered healthy snacks at classes or events, 37% shared nutrition resources with other teachers, 42% shared nutrition information with parents, and 33% used nutrition information and recipes at home. Conclusions and Implications: The culture at IsaacDistrict Schools has slowly changed during the past 3 years to a more healthy lifestyle focus. More training is needed to help teachers strengthen their nutrition knowledge and use additional curriculum. This project is funded byUSDA SNAP.
