Abstract

Cellulose separators have some challenges for their application in sodium-ion batteries: In their Research Article (e202300258), Xing-Long Wu and co-workers prepare a composite separator (CP@PPC) using cellulose paper (CP) cured by impregnation with polypropylene carbonate (PPC). With the assistance of PPC, CP@PPC not only opens up additional Na+ migration paths through a new „pore-hopping“ transport mechanism, but also achieves a flexible, safe and environmental friendly high-performance separator.
