Abstract

Data were collected retrospectively on the incidence of several species of yeasts. Inherent human serum cidal activity was then determined for the most common clinical yeast isolates. The most prevalent clinical isolates were Candida albicans, Candida parapsilosis, Candida tropicalis and Candida glabrata. The least amount of innate serum activity was seen against Candida albicans, Candida glabrata and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
