Abstract

Polymerization of methyl methacrylate in the presence of binary systems containing benzoyl peroxide and activators [4-(4-dimethylaminostyryl)pyridine, 4-(4-dimethylaminostyryl)pyridine N-oxide in chlorobenzene; triphenylbenzylphosphonium chloride, triphenylbenzylphosphonium bromide, tetraethylammonium chloride, tetraethylammonium bromide, tetraethylammonium benzoate in acetonitrile] at 303 K was studied. The rate constants of decomposition of benzoyl peroxide in the presence of activators, initial polymerization rates, initiation rates, and initiation efficiencies at 303 K were determined.
