Abstract
The distribution of mechanical stresses in glass under a disk cutter is investigated. The site of crack initiation in the glass is determined. It was established that a “mirror” zone appears under such conditions, and its size for the best edge to be formed in the glass was determined. The stages of destruction of glass a disk cutter were determined.
