Abstract

Since 1971 the chief residents of the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology have conducted an annual survey of Radiology Chief Residents, with intent to use the collected data to improve the training of diagnostic radiology residents nationwide (1). The American Association of Academic Chief Residents in Radiology also meets yearly to discuss resident training and review the annual survey results. To our knowledge, no such data have been collected from radiation oncology training programs. We conducted a similar survey related to research responsibilities and academic meeting attendance, resident education and clinical responsibilities, and benefits in accredited radiation oncology programs in the 2012-2013 academic year.
