Abstract
Applying external electric field pulses to a Chloroplast suspension an electric potential difference is generated across the energy — transducing membrane. By this artificial membrane potential ATP — synthesis (1) and the energy-dependent exchange of adenine nucleotides tightly bound to the ATPase indicating a conformational change of the ATPase can be induced (2).
