Abstract

To describe the initial experience of cardiac contractility modulation (CCM) implantation in Latin America. We present the first two cases in Latin America of patients with heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) not candidates for cardiac resynchronization therapy in whom a CCM device was implanted. Results. In both patients we described improvement of the 6-minute walk test, functional class according to the NYHA and LVEF. The modulation of cardiac contractility is currently a treatment option for patients with heart failure in functional class III-IV, with LVEF 25-45%, and a QRS < 130 ms who are not candidates for cardiac resynchronization therapy.
