Abstract

AbstractIn this paper the effect of initial particle concentration on the dielectrophoretic trapping of particles is investigated. The numerical simulations incorporate the effects of the suspension motion due to the presence of the electric field and the steric particle effect. It is found that the initial concentration has a significant impact on both the initial rate and steady state of particle collection and subsequently the trapping range is also affected (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
