Abstract

PREVIEWThe evaluation and management of acute coronary syndrome are undergoing rapid development and change in the United States in an attempt to better define patient risk and guide triage decisions. Here, Dr Rosamond explores the current theories about what pathobiologic factors take part in acute coronary syndrome. He also details the strategies and technology, both available and under development, that can help direct accurate diagnosis and identify patient risk.
