Abstract

Low-dimensional formulations of the integro-differential Maxwell-Bloch equations, in their stable and unstable regimes of operation, are analyzed. The investigation aims at finding self-consistent inhomogeneous parameters that could validate the projection of the infinite dimensional set, which describes the properties of the single-mode inhomogeneously broadened laser, on to a 4D subspace that would retain the characteristics of the original equations in various regimes of operation.
