Abstract

The lateral and depth dependence of ferromagnetic resonance microwave absorption in thin ferrite plates has been studied using the photothermal laser-beam-deflection technique. In the lateral resolved resonance spectra, spatial dependences are found of standing-wave absorption modes as well as local variations of the demagnetization field inside the sample. The lateral resolution achieved was about 200 mu m. The depth dependence of the microwave absorption was determined from the photothermal signal as a function of the microwave modulation frequency. >
