Abstract

The inhibitory effect of citrinin, one of the quinoid compounds, on the respiration and succinic dehydrogenase activity of the kidney, liver and brain tissue of normal rats, and the depression of the respiration and succinic dehydrogenase activity of the kidney tissue, but no effect on the respiration of brain tissue in the poisoned rats were investigated. The probable relation between the inhibition of tubular reabsorption of water and the depressed activity of dehydrogenase of the kidney tissue was discussed.
