Abstract

Antimycin, at low concentrations, inhibits ferredoxin catalysed cyclic photophosphorylation [1], but not cyclic electron transport catalysed by other cofactors [2] or any other non-cyclic system [3]. Antimycin sensitivity in chloroplasts does not result from the presence of a Mitchellian Q-cycle mechanism [4] operating exclusively in ferredoxin catalysed cyclic electron transport [reviewed in 5].
