Abstract

The effect the composition of a salt mixture exerts on the corrosion of АД-1 aluminum alloy in a 2 M HCl is discussed. Possible ways of calculating the inhibition coefficient for a binary mixture of inhibitors acting via similar or different mechanisms are analyzed. A method of quantitatively estimating the mutual effect of the components in inhibiting mixtures of metal salts is proposed for those components that, being reduced in a contact with aluminum surface, increase the hydrogen overpotential.
