Abstract

Inherited coagulation disorders reported in the Indian literature are reviewed. Classical hemophilia, von Willebrand's disease and Christmas disease are the three common disorders (388, 80 and 77 cases reported). Amongst the others, fibrinogen disorders are the only ones to be reported in sufficient numbers (16 cases). Paucity of investigative facilities explains the small number of cases reported. This in turn hampers the development of therapeutic facilities.
