Abstract

ABSTRACTTraditionally, infrastructure management has been the realm of the technocrats. This has led to the assessment of infrastructure systems as standalone technical entities as opposed to a interdependent homologous systems comprising technical, social, environmental, economic and political influences.Recent infrastructure 'crises' in Australia highlights a need to have a fresh outlook and examination of the way infrastructure is managed.This paper explores the concept of using visual qualitative analysis for examining and capturing the complex nature of the relationships that bind infrastructure management systems together. This will be done through the examination of stakeholder perceptions in relation to current infrastructure management practices.
