Abstract

Transport infrastructure is a systemically important element of a territory’s socio-economic space. The article presents the method to identify infrastructure gaps through the prism of a comprehensive compliance assessment of the level of infrastructure development in a region with its transport activity. The method was tested on the example of Sverdlovsk region and its neighboring regions. We identified and classified infrastructure gaps, as well as estimated the potential of the transport system for leveling these gaps. The results showed that Sverdlovsk region does not have infrastructure gaps and has sufficient transport potential to maintain the stable integrity in the future.
