Abstract

Pure rotational transitions in the ν3 state (E′) of 11BF3 due to vibrationally induced dipole moment are observed by infrared-microwave double resonance using a tunable diode laser. The induced dipole moment is estimated to be 0.04+0.02−0.01 D from the power broadening of the double resonance signals. The rotational constant C0 is determined experimentally by use of the observed infrared and microwave transitions to be 5161.4(6) MHz.
